Hi! I created this website to help all pet owners keep their pets safe especially during the cold winter months.
Pet safety tips:
1) If it's too cold for you to stay outside...It's also too cold to keep your pets outside, so please bring them in!
2) If your dog likes going out out..do shorter walks with him/ or her. If the dog is small or easily gets cold- put a jacket on him, and dog boots.
3) Please don't leave your pet in the car...they can freeze!
4) If the dogs go for grooming on a regular basis let them have longer hair so that there hair can keep them warm.
5) If you have to keep your dog outside give them a warm safe shelter to stay in, with dog food and water.
6) keep cats inside.
7) When you are about to drive check around your vehicle, and under it to ensure no cats and dogs are hiding. Because it's cold sometimes dogs and cats like to hide in and around vehicles to help keep themselves warm.
8) Antifreeze seems like a sweet treat for dogs and cats to drink. But please don't let them drink it- it's poisonous!

If you found a stray cat or dog take them to the vet and they can have him/ or her picked up and brought to a local shelter.
If you want to surrender your pets please ask your friends and family if they would want to adopt them first before bringing them to the Calgary Humane Society (http://calgaryhumane.ca/)
If you find any stray animals please bring them to your nearest vet clinic, or vet hospital. They will help provide care and bring them to the nearest animal shelter. Here is a couple of vet clinics and hospitals below.
